You keep thinking about having a baby all the time—how small and cute its feet would be, how it’d feel to hold your baby in your arms, and how your heart would vibrate like a buzzer when they call you mama for the first time.

While we agree it is a tough time, parenthood can be extremely beautiful when you know how to do everything right. This includes getting pregnant for the first time right!

Getting pregnant really fast has more to it than just having sex at the right time. It requires the perfect environment, conditions, a good fertility diet, and supporting body health to be able to conceive quickly. Although everything is in the hands of nature, there are a few things we can do and a few things we can avoid doing to increase the chances of getting pregnant ASAP. These steps may not work for every couple; however, they’re a must-try if you want to conceive quickly.

Note: Pregnancy is not something that can be accurately planned, and it is not your fault if you cannot get pregnant as quickly as your friends did. Remember that sometimes you may get pregnant on the very first try, and other times it may take as long as a year.

Some signs of ovulation include a change in your cervical mucus, which becomes thin and slippery when you’re most fertile. Few women also feel a one-sided twinge of pain when ovulating.

Sperm cells are really great swimmers, so they may reach the cervix within 15 minutes after ejaculation. While it is not important to swing your legs up in the air, you can try it if you want to. You can also keep a soft pillow under your back to help these swimmers keep going in the right direction.

Couples use certain sex positions like sitting or standing during intercourse, however, it may discourage sperm from traveling upstream. How could the sperm travel from down to upward in these positions? It’s a matter of gravity and I know you don’t want all your semen to run out or lose sperm quality.

4. Maintain a healthy lifestyle, and avoid stress

Don’t be stressed about starting a family or trying to get pregnant. Stress can affect ovulation badly, so the more relaxed and happy you are, the better is the result.

You must do whatever helps you in keeping stress out of your bedroom. Watch movies, laugh loudly, eat your favorite food, go for walks, crack sex jokes, dance, listen to erotic music, and just do all the things you like. Be happy and healthy. 

Alcohol consumption—Avoid drinking too much alcohol when you’re on the journey of possible pregnancy. Nevertheless, a glass of wine with your hubby won’t hurt.

Most of the estrogen is made by ovaries in the female body, which means smoking can directly affect your reproductive health. This is why stop taking ciggerates or keep it low when you are trying to bring a baby into your life.

Caffeine intake—Many studies state that excessive consumption of caffeine may lead to fertility issues, making it is crucial to cut back on your daily coffee cups. You do not have to complete give it up, just keep it low.

In addition, you can enjoy decaf coffee, which is the same as coffee but contains lesser caffeine. A cup of decaf coffee only has 2mg caffeine, as compared to 70 to 100 mg in a regular cup of coffee.

Healthy diet—You should focus on enjoying a healthy and nutritious diet, full of juicy fruits, veggies, and whole grains. Other than that, include raspberries, blueberries, and strawberries in your daily meals. These foods are rich in natural antioxidants and anti-inflammatory phytonutrients, both of which are great at improving fertility in both men and women.

5. Time your sex

Trying to get pregnant does not mean you have to get on the sheets every hour of the day. Too much of anything simply backfires. If you have too much sex in one day, it is obvious that your partner’s sperm quality and count would be reduced. On the other hand, if you have very little sex, the sperm cells may have gotten old and slow swimmers.

Instead, time your sex to be more effective. The best way to conceive quickly is to have sex once a day, every other day, before and after ovulation during the fertile days. Some tips to keep in mind while having sex:

Avoid oral sex—A large amount of saliva may affect sperm’s mobility.

Don’t use lube—When you are only and only trying to get pregnant, put off using lube. It may make sex comfortable, but it may kill most sperm cells before they even reach the egg. Other options include using a sperm-friendly lubricant.

Do not worry about positions during sex—Do not worry too much about different sex positions, as they do not really matter much in getting you pregnant. Just keep the missionary and doggy style positions a priority, and enjoy the intimacy.

6. Stock up on sleep

Getting caught up in having too much sex, and avoiding a good sleep routine may affect your chances of getting pregnant. It is vital to get at least seven to eight hours of sleep every night to have a healthy day-to-day routine.

An irregular sleep routine may lead to irregular periods, which will disturb your menstruation & ovulation cycle. This will also affect your ability to devise the best time to have sex for getting pregnant.

Getting proper sleep will keep your body & mind healthy, and may help you avoid stress, and enjoy sex while you’re at it.
